How to compact your Virtual Disks
13. June 2009 by Tony.
Regardless
Regardless of what broker you may be using to deliver your Virtual desktops I’ve found that many enterprise organizations have decided to continue to use VMware ESX/Sphere as their hyper-visor of choice. Primarily this decision is based on the path of least resistance:
They already have it
The Server IT team is trained and proficient in the technology
The Server IT team will be managing the server infrastructure
The Desktop IT team is responsible for managing desktop delivery
They may have an ELA that covers it’s use
Now whaile I prefer to use Citrix Provisioning server to stream my VDI desktops I have many customers that continue to do things manually
To that end I found the following article useful for them
